Prejudice and stereotyping are very similar to each other, although there are some minor differences.
Prejudice is more of an opinion towards someone and how they live and its often negative thoughts. Stereoptypes are more an image as how u see a certain group of people, such as for example people living in Africa or South Africa. If you ask people what kind of people the think live there most people would say dark skinned people, but in South Africa there is actually a mix between dark skinned people and white skinned people as of now.
I think having negative thoughts about someone and spreading it creates stereotypes, if enough people start to use it and spread it eventually everybody will start to talk the same and talk the same about different people.
In the TED Talk about Tui Raven she talks about how someone told her she was “pretty for an aboriginal person” quoting that aboriginal people arent usually nice to look at, this guy had then followed a stereotype that aboriginal people are usually ugly looking. Stereotypes are basically made up false stories which sometimes makes fun of people, sometimes talks bad about about people and they might also be some nice stereotypes.
